In October 2025, Falun Dafa practitioners organised free teaching demonstrations at shopping centres across Melbourne, following the council-supported classes that began in community centres in mid-September. Three booths were held: Sunshine Market Place (13–19 October), Box Hill North Central (20–26 October), and The Glen shopping centre in Glen Waverley (3–9 November).
Each booth featured soft lighting, blue wave imagery, and white lotus flowers. Television screens broadcast teaching videos, and exhibition boards displayed the five exercise movements. Practitioners stood nearby in neat clothing, distributing materials and demonstrating exercises while peaceful music played.
Among those drawn to the booth was Steven, a Western resident in his seventies, who was initially attracted by the peaceful atmosphere.
“Sensations of external energy flowing through my palms, ears, and head — it is miraculous and comfortable.”

Tan Le, a Vietnamese-born sales director, expressed interest in the practice for relaxation and a “non-action” mindset, and hoped his mother — who has spinal arthritis and stomach ulcers — would practise alongside him. Anna, an employee at a nearby bed linen shop, stepped outside to learn during quiet periods throughout the day, and her colleagues noticed she appeared noticeably more relaxed and joyful. Sen, a 74-year-old Vietnamese resident who had been in Australia for fifty years, expressed strong interest after learning about Falun Dafa’s spiritual cultivation approach and planned to attend classes in St Albans.
Nicky, the shopping centre’s senior manager, enthusiastically welcomed the demonstrations and offered to arrange booth space at additional locations to reach more residents.
